Comment on Aveda (Estee Lauder) by Vy https://ethicalelephant.com/is-aveda-cruelty-free-vegan/comment-page-1/#comment-153024 Wed, 10 Jan 2024 17:28:47 +0000 https://ethicalelephant.com/?p=24447#comment-153024 ]]> In reply to Patricia Benedetto.

Aveda is listed on Cruelty Free International’s website. see here: https://crueltyfreeinternational.org/leapingbunny

It’s annoying having to check both websites some times but I was told Leaping Bunny’s website is for companies based in the US and Canada. Whereas CFI’s website is for companies based outside the US and Canada. So, I’m not sure why Aveda is not listed on Leaping Bunny’s website because their headquarters are in the US.. 🤔

As a vegetarian and ethical consumer, it’s so important to me that the brands I support align with my values. I’ve been doing some research on this myself and it’s amazing how often companies are not transparent about their practices. Thanks for shedding light on this and providing actionable steps for readers to take. Can’t wait to see more content like this! 💚🌱

Not synthetic mica — just mica.

Comment on Guide to Vegan Dishwasher Detergent: How to Keep Your Dishes Clean and Your Conscience Clear by K. Levin https://ethicalelephant.com/vegan-dishwasher-detergents/comment-page-1/#comment-152116 Thu, 04 Jan 2024 16:54:30 +0000 https://ethicalelephant.com/?p=71039#comment-152116 Update to my comment about Blueland. I finally received an email from them telling me how to find the details of their ingredients. It was hard to see that location on the webpage. However, I still have concerns because while they list the ingredients, they do not specifically identify the source of the ingredients. They simply say “naturally derived.” That is so broad as to be useless. Unfortunately, many harmful chemicals are “naturally derived.” I replied to them expressing my concerns and am waiting to hear from them.

However, on their website they only identify what they do not include in the tablets, they do not list the ingredients of the tablets. I posted a message to them about this but they have not replied. Based on this, I would not buy their dishwasher detergent tablets.

Hi,
It’s not including plants, otherwise we would be unable to eat. Most of the “where required by law” stuff has to do with selling in mainland China, and the companies that refuse to do any animal testing, just don’t sell their products there. At least that’s my understanding, and I’m sure someone will correct me if I’ve misunderstood.
